Ashley was extremely caring and attentive to this patient in a time of need.

Recently, we had a patient get a PCI and receive three stents in her RCA. The patient was recovering on tele and had increased chest pain and worsening symptoms following her procedure. She ended up having to come back to the cath lab and it was discovered that she had a complication that was blocking the blood flow in the artery her stents were placed. Ashley was her circulating nurse for both cases that day. She was extremely caring and attentive to this patient in a time of need. The patient was in a lot of pain and very anxious and scared.

The second procedure lasted far past Ashley's scheduled shift, however, she volunteered to stay to cover the call for another nurse who was tied up in an EP procedure. She stayed late to finish the case which required a CT scan following the cath to evaluate the patient further and get her settled into the ICU to be closely monitored overnight. Ashley was kind, caring, and attentive.

The next morning Ashley and I went and visited the patient to see how her night went and see how she was feeling. It was very meaningful to the patient that she took the time to check up on her and say hello. We have been short-staffed in our circulator role here in the cath lab for a variety of reasons leaving Ashley to be the main nurse in that role for a few weeks now. She has stepped up to the plate to care for our patients during this time and her hard work and positive attitude deserve to be recognized!
