I had been in the hospital for 18 days and am very sick with extremely intense muscular/skeletal pain due to infections. Ashley Newell has been my Nurse most often. Not only has she been unbelievably compassionate during the madness of a very busy unit and while she has been training new nursing staff, but she also remained patient and advocated for me when I was in the worst pain. I know how busy it gets and how hard it is taking care of people, especially during a frightening pandemic. Nurse Ashley Newell is truly selfless and should be recognized. If my pain needs feel unmet and I feel that I’m unheard, I will leave AMA despite how dangerous it is to my health. But I have been blessed to have Ashley advocating for me and showing true compassion.
