Upon meeting her, I knew instantly that she would be an amazing nurse. She greeted me and introduced herself the moment I walked into my father's room (91 yr. Whipple patient). Without me asking, she filled me in with all of the updates regarding my dad. She was positive and displayed a great deal of genuine warmth. She treated my dad with empathy and compassion. She spoke in a caring way, always telling my dad what she was doing. She pulled me aside in a private matter, offering extra support and comfort. She made my dad extra comfortable by arranging his pillows, blankets, providing iced chips, and fresh blankets. She was very busy with all of her patients and didn't even take a break until late afternoon when I told her to go relax. She kept providing unconditional support with a smile on her face and never showed exhaustion (though she must have been). I am so thankful for her care. My dad loved her, too. She talked with him and engaged with his mind and emotional wellness. I was so impressed. Keep up the great work. You are amazing.
