My sister had unexpected bypass surgery. We were extremely nervous and anxious. Ashley Penaloza was our nurse. She calmed us down, she gave us hope and the strength we needed. Her kind and caring nature earned our trust and admiration. She is an exception. She even brushed and braided my sister's hair before surgery. That was so amazing. I had tears. My sister was at peace before this terrible situation. Ashley's professional skills, her amazing compassion, her ability to care for her patients make me believe she is worthy of The DAISY Award.
