A co-worker observed Ashley Portis' interactions with a grieving family. Ashley was the nurse taking care of a patient recently diagnosed with a terminal illness. The illness was sudden, and it left the family with no time to prepare for the impending death. Ashley was able to share her personal story with the family. Ashley showed humility and empathy with the family by listening, hugging and crying with the family. Thank you, Ashley, for your compassion and your selflessness!
