My 65-year-old mother was admitted to the ICU. She has had a long medical struggle due to a ruptured aneurysm followed by a stroke 13 years ago. She entered the ICU with pneumonia and an MRSA infection among other related issues. Ashley was her dayshift nurse. She was kind and compassionate. Mom was confused and disoriented. Ashley tended to her with kindness. She spoke to her with respect and patience. She was always available and understanding of mom's needs. She is an outstanding nurse.
