Ashley became aware that one of her pediatric leukemia patients was very depressed, enough so that he had been admitted to the hospital. She knew that this kiddo has an extreme interest and love with first responders and dreams of working as a police officer or firefighter. Ashley got in contact with Lubbock Police Department and was able to go through the process of registering and signing him up for their summer explorer camp. This involved a lot of phone time with LPD and even a trip to the police station on her free time to register the kiddo for the program. This camp gives him an opportunity to work with and learn from his heroes, first responders. Her thoughtfulness and hard work gave her patient something to be excited/happy about. Ashley makes it a point to get to know her patients. She goes above and beyond to make sure that their journey through a cancer diagnosis is as easy as possible. She truly devotes herself to her kids and work. We are blessed to have her!
