The patient's son stated he could not have gone through this without the kindness and compassion Ashley showed his mother: "Ashley was 'always right there' not just to check on mom but on the family. She was great at answering all our questions and giving us additional information about the patient and the dying process. She kept the patient comfortable and was always greeting the family members with a smile. She helped the family cope and take much needed rest on nights knowing that the patient was in good hands." Although there were two other nurses that the patient's son recognized, he wanted to say that, "Ashley went far above and beyond to give extraordinary care to his mother and at the same time care for the family."
