April 2023 Honoree
Ashley Ruffley, RN, BSN
Nurse Ashley helped us get through a very difficult first week. Her nursing skills were top-notch and professional, but it was her personal skills that put her over the top. She was comforting, she researched doctor’s names for me as some days it was hard to keep things straight, she helped us sort through what we were being told by doctors, and she did everything possible to make our stay at the hospital manageable.
My daughter had Ashley as her nurse several times that first week before being transferred to the oncology floor – having someone who knows your situation and can give consistency to a very fluid situation was absolutely priceless. Ashley took time out to personally check in on my daughter after she was transferred to a different unit, and also sent an internal hospital message of support.
Lastly, Ashley recently came to the hospital several hours before the start of her 12-hour shift just to attend my daughter’s ringing of the cancer-free bell. So thankful for Ashley!
