Having to leave your baby at the NICU each night is heart-wrenching and terrifying, but knowing that Ashley was there always brought some peace to our hearts.
Our son was born in November of 2019 at 24.6 weeks. He was immediately admitted to the NICU, where we met Ashley and asked her if she would be one of our primary nurses. Every single day, Ashley took care of our son with such diligence, skill, and love. Having to leave your baby at the NICU each night is heart-wrenching and terrifying, but knowing that Ashley was there always brought some peace to our hearts. She always paid attention to his tiny and subtle cues, and she always stayed to talk to us and make sure that we were okay, too.

In one specific example, our son had a lot of bradycardia episodes when he was first born, and we were very nervous about giving him his one-month vaccines because of this. They ended up needing to give him the vaccines after we had left for the day, and I was so worried that I wouldn’t be there to hold him or comfort him. Ashley called right when they were done to tell us that the vaccines went well, and she stayed with him for a while, to talk and comfort him until he was okay. I could name 50 more examples of Ashley going above and beyond the scope of necessity throughout our time in the NICU. We owe so much of our son’s success to Ashley, and we could not have made it through those 88 days without her.
