Ashley Sherman is the first DAISY Award Honoree from WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital. Ashley was nominated for advocating for her patient to be transferred to a higher level of care, which resulted in a positive patient outcome for the mother and baby. Ashley has been a nurse at GMH for nine years in the Mother-Infant Care Center (MICC). She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from WVU in 2012. She is certified in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advance Fetal Monitoring, and STORK EPIC Application. Ashley recently received my breastfeeding specialist certification to help mothers navigate the rewarding but often challenging breastfeeding journey.
