Ashley Shin, BSN, RN, CPN, TNCC
We were admitted to 2P from the ED after my daughter was having apneic episodes with full-body color change and low oxygen saturation readings.
Even though we were limited on sleep and worried that our three-day-old daughter could have potential cardiac issues, we were put at ease when Ashley and Paul were the nurses to greet us on 2P. They explained policy and procedures and what was expected of us as parents.
We had to bottle feed due to her episodes, and we had questions about orders from the night hospitalist. Ashley kindly sat in the room with me and helped ease my stressed-out mama heart as she answered questions. This gesture, although simple, made such an impact on my thought process about my daughter’s care.
Thank you, Ashley, for showing patience, professionalism, and compassion while taking care of my daughter, my husband, and me. We could tell you truly love your job, and we are so thankful for you and the other nurses on 2P.
