I don't want to only thank Ashley for helping the ED with a busy day and with a patient, but also for going above and beyond for my friend.
On a very busy evening where Ashley was already covering for me for a personal obligation, she stayed late to help not only a patient, but also close friends of mine. This patient was going through quite the medical episode and was having the most terrible days of her life.
Upon coming into work and getting the report, Ashley informed me that some people down in the ED were here and knew me. Once it was determined why this patient was here and the severity of her medical issue, Ashley and I went down to the ED after seeing this patient's blood pressure go low. This patient was here for about 8 to 9 hours, and I personally only saw them for just over an hour of that time, but from my short time down there, I could see the bond Ashley had with the patient and the extra touch of nursing care she provided.
I even saw Ashley wipe tears away from this patient and comfort her in a way only a special person could. Ashley made sure to include the family and provided comfort to them as well. I don't want to only thank Ashley for helping the ED with a busy day and with a patient, but also for going above and beyond for my friend. Ashley was set to leave around 7:30 that night, but finally clocked out at 9:30 due to her providing care and comfort.
Thank you, Ashley. The traits you have as a nurse are extraordinary.
