Ashley has been working as clinical nurse coordinator/ project lead for ACE space ( Alternative Care Environment for Paediatric medicine ) In collaboration with ACE team she achieved successful roll out of this new process that improves quality of care for our patients, and creates capacity within our cluster and hospital. I was in charge nurse that day when I witnessed Ashley talking to a family whose child has been diagnosed with neurodegenerative disorder. She was covering for the nurse who was taking care of that patient. She took her time to engage in the conversation with the family and she was actively listening to them. She offered them to contact social worker and she did it right there in a moment.

Ashley is always genuinely compassionate towards patients, families and staff. She cares about wellness of all of her colleagues and you can often find her promoting all sorts of wellness activities, from promoting compression socks to staff nurses, to organizing social events outside of work to relive everyday stress.

Ashley went above and beyond when she got involved in collaboration with PACT and complex care team to organize Remembrance ceremony for patients that passed away on 7BCD. She is also actively involved with RN council as 7B RN council representative. In previous years she organized warm fuzzes ( holiday greeting cards, where we can recognize each other and give thanks and appreciations).

Ashley is excellent advocate for her patients. Ashley always go above and beyond, which is evident trough many positive comments from our families and team members. To quote a parent of one of our patients:" "It is impossible not to smile when Ashley is in the room. Her positive personality really shines through and has made this much easier for us."
