My youngest daughter, C, was recently diagnosed with DCIS Breast Cancer. She is only 19 years old and was facing a long surgery and recovery. In May she went into Mastectomy and Immediate Reconstruction surgery. All of this occurred in conjunction with the COVID-19 Pandemic. We were all very scared for our girl and she was facing this all alone. Ashley was amazing and with her team, due to extraneous circumstances, she was able to secure a private room for C so that I was able to stay with her the entire time. This was not an easy task for Ashley because of the COVID-19 shutdown orders. I cannot explain how much this meant to C, me, and my entire family. Being able to stay with my baby girl gave us both so much comfort. It would have been heartbreaking to face alone for anyone, but especially for a 19-year-old. C received the best care while on 7 South (as did I). Ashley trained us on how to clear her drains and properly care for C. She was in constant contact with us before, during, and after her surgery.
