Ashley showed her compassion to my situation and I never felt judged by her.
From an adolescent patient:
“Ashley talked to me and calmed me down and showed my worth and that she cares. How many patients agree?”
Multiple patients signed it.

From an acute adult patient:
“Ashley is an amazing nurse. When I first arrived, I was in a dark place and not confident in myself. I didn’t know what to expect as this was my first time in a behavioral facility. Ashley showed her compassion to my situation and I never felt judged by her. I found out that I would not be able to be home with my family for New Year's. This made me upset enough for self-isolation. I went to my room and cried, feeling punished for my mistake or actions. Ashley noticed and came to my room almost immediately. When she asked if I was okay, I told her that I didn’t feel comfortable talking to anyone at the moment. She looked at me and you could tell she really wanted me to be okay. Seconds later, I was spilling out all of my raw thoughts to her and she listened.
At that moment, she was a friend to me. The next day, I encountered a phone call that didn’t end well with my mother. I wanted to talk to Ashley. She made me feel comfortable in my situation. With all of the chaos going on, she made sure to have the time to talk. We shared a heartfelt moment that made me feel better and I think her too! She reminded me that it does not make me a weak or bad person to set boundaries even with the people we may be close with. Thank you Ashley for everything you do.”
