We had a patient who had decided he wanted to terminate his care and go home on hospice. Normally, getting a patient home on hospice isn’t too tricky, but that was not the case for this patient. The patient was on a couple of different drips, helping to maintain blood pressure, and if turned off while here, he would have passed right away. This patient's only request was that he make it back to his house, the same house he was born and raised in, to peacefully pass with his family by his side.

Ashley spent the whole day jumping through hoops, contacting the right people, and ultimately getting approval to take this patient to his home via EMS with his pressors so he could get his last wish of passing away in his home. I know how much this meant to the patient, and I am so thankful he had Ashley as his nurse, who fought for him and his wishes. Ashley is such an amazing, compassionate nurse who always goes above and beyond for our patients. Thank you for all you do Ashley!
