September 2016 Honoree
ashley walker, RN
We had a 60-year-old female who had a neurological event following a STEMI for over a month. She was given comfort measures and had very little family. One of her sisters did say to one of the nurses that the patient loved to read and really enjoyed scripture. When rounding one day, I found one of my nurses, Ashley Walker, sitting at the patient's bedside reading to her. When I asked her about it, she said it wasn't long but it was the right thing to do for the patient.
Thank you, Ashley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
