My husband went in for a level 3 spinal fusion and 7 days later he was well enough to go to rehab. As I sit in his room I reflect on the amazing care he received from nurse Ashlyn even on the days she wasn’t assigned to him she checked and helped out and is a true compassionate professional and team member. My mother and sister were both RNs and stressed the importance of empathy and emotional intelligence. Nurse Ashlyn possesses those skills, she is rock steady around her patients utilizes her resources wisely and expediently, and methodically. She stayed calm and helped us remain calm while explaining everything she was doing and giving my husband. She possesses such competency and leadership. She's professional, discrete and truly cares about the family! She listens, processes, and responds effectively! She is an angel, an amazing human being, and an excellent nurse! She showed her confidence and empathic leadership skills when she intentionally brought in the night nurse and introduced us to her no other nurse took the time for such a transition- not sure why but it puts her in a league of her own for going above and beyond.
