Ashlyn always goes above and beyond for her patients! She has a great attitude and is willing to jump in to help other nurses or patients without any hesitation. Ashlyn and an orientee were taking care of a patient who had fallen at home and was covered from head-to-toe in their own feces, dirt, and other secretions. This patient had not had any personal hygiene in a long time, yet Ashlyn assisted the patient into the shower, washed his hair, and provided a new set of clothes all while maintaining his dignity.
Despite a busy shift in the ED and the added responsibility of teaching a new nurse, Ashlyn remained diligent in her care of this patient when others might have said they did not have time. She made a point to care for him as a person, showing kindness and compassion. Her level of professionalism and teaching will help raise the standard of care, so we are doing our very best for every patient, every time. I am so happy to have Ashlyn on our team.
