My wife and I were very uneasy and anxious during the delivery and the first few days of our daughter A's life.

We delivered our daughter M at Chapel Hill. M had been diagnosed with Potter's syndrome and her lungs did not develop. M only lived for seven minutes and passed peacefully in my arms. I was absolutely devastated. As you can imagine, I was very protective over my new baby girl A when she was born on Monday. Don't get me wrong, we have had wonderful nurses and staff throughout our stay; however, on Tuesday we were blessed to be introduced to the greatest nurse that I have ever known. Her name was Ashten and she was an absolute angel. She consistently kept us updated on anything going on and made me feel more comfortable in a hospital room than I ever dreamed possible since we lost M.

Ashten is the one-hundred percent perfect example of what every nurse should strive to be! Ashten deserves so much more, but I sincerely hope this reaches her for her recognition. Ashten deserves her picture plastered all over the hospital as the shining star that she truly is. We love you and hope you continue to accomplish your dreams while knowing that you truly made a life-changing difference in our lives and the life of our baby girl.
