While in the hospital, my father felt a connection with one of our nurses, Asli. Even when she was working in another side she still would stop by and check in on him. She was everything we needed when we needed it. She was playful when he was fussy. She was kind and caring when he was in pain and she was always thoughtful and respectful. When all things are done, and we leave this hospital, our family will remember her extraordinary care and loving heart. The DAISY Award is fitting for her because long after her job is done, the seed of hope and joy lives on with us. My father wanted to write this himself but by the time he had his thoughts, he could not write.
