My father was hospitalized due to Parkinson's complications including aspiration pneumonia. My family was in California for my son’s graduation at the time he was admitted and we came to South Austin hospital as soon as possible. We had a few busy days fulfilling his last wishes before he was transitioned to hospice. Aspen took outstanding care of us. She was calm and always made us feel comfortable overnight. She helped us understand our dad’s decline on his last day. My sister and I filled his room with flowers and music. The nurses helped us celebrate our dad’s life until he let go just before father’s day. All the nurses' techs, doctors, and nurses have been helpful too. We are grateful to South Austin Medical Center.
