Athina Leyba, BSN, RN

Athina Leyba, a nurse from the medical-surgical unit 2B North, was recognized by a patient. He wrote that she was supportive of not only his physical but also emotional needs during his time at the hospital, which he felt was taking him on an emotional roller coaster. He was impressed with how Athina not only attended to him but also "rushed around helping everyone" and "is highly attentive to the needs of everyone around her." He also commented about how well she listened to him and how he felt she was a great ambassador for the San Francisco VA by going above and beyond the call of duty.
