Aubrey is clinically astute and definitely provides compassionate care to our patients.
We had an elderly patient come in with a hip fracture. This lady was in a fair amount of pain as you can imagine. ED nurses are not notorious for being warm and fuzzy (for their own protection), but this RN exemplified how I would want my family member treated if the same were to occur to one of them. This nurse was attentive, and compassionate and kept checking on her patient. She was calm and reassuring to the patient.
Aubrey made sure that the patient was moved off of a stretcher and onto a hospital bed. She took every precaution that she could to make sure that this transfer took place with as much awareness and sensitivity to the patient’s pain as possible. This nurse did an excellent job of advocating for and supporting this patient. The patient was alone, elderly, in pain, and in a hospital with a fracture. How frightening for that patient, but our nurse was truly there for her in every sense of the word. I have been told that this same nurse was instrumental in providing great care to a GI bleeder. She is clinically astute and definitely provides compassionate care to our patients. What more could you want in a nurse?
