Audrey checked every person's chart on the unit for COVID so they could arrange for me to meet my son.
While I myself don't remember much of my time in the ICU with Audrey, I am told by my father she was simply amazing. I had an unusual birth experience and ended up under her care for about a week. My dad spoke so highly of her. She tried to make sure people left me alone when she finally got me settled, as I was irritable on the ventilator and all the meds. She tried to pump me so that I'd get the chance to breastfeed when I finally woke to meet my little man. Lastly, and most importantly, she checked every person's chart on the unit for COVID so they could arrange for me to meet my son. At the time I was unable to appreciate the people around me, but now that I have improved so much I can. We want to express our thankfulness for all that she did for us. I have very little memory of even being in the ICU but I do remember holding my son which just means the world to me. At such an important time in my life, she made all the difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Audrey, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to improve. Thank you for comforting my father in such a hectic time. Thank you for making it possible for me to meet my son. Losing so much, that meant the world to me.
Note: This is Audrey's 2nd DAISY Award!
