Audrey Mallory, RN

My mother-in-law had a short stay on Telemetry department. During the two days that she was there, she had Audrey as her primary Nurse. We unfortunately received information about my mother-in-law's health that was life changing, as she was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As we tried to process the information, Audrey was there to provide compassion and a comforting hand in her care. Audrey took the time to listen to her and demonstrated great attributes that placed the needs of her patient first. Since so much was out of our control with the new diagnosis, there was comfort in knowing that our loved one was being taken care of attentively by Audrey. She made it evident that she truly cared. Before she completed her shift, she made sure there was nothing else my mother-in-law needed and offered her a much-needed hug (sometimes the smallest gesture can mean so much). Audrey’s interaction with her might have only been for two days, but it left an impact on her and our family and for that, we are grateful.
