Augustine Rodriguez, RN

Augustine Rodriguez displayed incredible patience, excellence and respect with a patient. We had a patient who's surgical team canceled his surgery a week prior and Auggie fielded calls from this patient all weekend long. The patient then showed up early Monday morning and demanded to speak with the surgeon. The patient became noticeably agitated and frustrated and became unruly in the surgical waiting room. Auggie took the time out of his busy day to go out to the waiting room and clearly explain the situation as well as present alternatives for the patient to get care. Auggie exhibited professional and compassionate care and the patient voiced that while he was frustrated with the surgeon and their office, he was incredibly grateful and thankful that Auggie spoke to him respectfully and met with him to allow him to voice his concerns. On top of his other duties as a charge RN he took the time to ensure that our patients felt that Swedish had their back and were concerned about their health. The patient asked that this RN recognize Auggie, for his time, dedication and amazing work during a vulnerable and frustrating time.
