My husband was admitted to the ICU due to a bleeding ulcer; he also has advanced heart failure. Once he was stable enough, he was moved to the 3rd floor cardiac rooms. Our anniversary was in just 4 days and he was very upset that he wouldn't be home for us to celebrate. He asked Aurora Hillin if it would be possible for us to at least eat dinner outside on the patio - she told him yes.
That day, I brought him flowers and we decided to have our dinner delivered and we would eat together on the patio. Aurora pulled me aside and told me she was getting our table ready for dinner and would be borrowing the flowers and a picture I brought. At the designated time, she had a CA bring us outside. We were both in awe when we saw what she had done. Aurora had decorated one of the tables with a tablecloth, flowers, our picture, rose petals and large cut out heart that said "Happy Anniversary J and D". She had provided dinnerware and special desserts, as well. We spent the next hour enjoying a beautiful, quiet dinner together. My husband and I both were in tears over the generous gesture. And it was probably the best anniversary we've ever had. I can't begin to explain how amazing it was - and it did wonders for my husband's state of mind. It will be a night we will never forget.
