Austin took care of my mother in law on six out of ten days of her hospital stay following surgery to remove the newly diagnosed cancer in her abdomen. Austin was the preceptor for a new nurse on the unit, so we got to know both of them pretty well during our stay. Austin stuck out to us because he is very thorough, friendly, helpful, easy-going, and proactive. He did an excellent job keeping my husband and I informed of what was going on with our mother each day when we arrived. He would explain everything he did and the rationale. We always felt at ease with him around, knowing nothing would be missed and that our mom was in good hands. I have been a nurse for six years and the main reason I felt comfortable and confident in the nursing care my mother in law received here was Austin. He was the key player in the positive aspects of our stay. Not only that, we saw him demonstrate exceptional mentoring skills with the nurse he was training. Their collaboration and care was the highlight of our experience at Billings Clinic. I am so grateful for the excellent work he did in taking care of us. He touched our lives and we will always remember him.
