It takes special people to be a nurse, and Austin has mastered the necessary job requirements, plus more.
B was inpatient for 11 days. During a procedure, things did not go as planned, as he was placed on a ventilator, Impella Pump, and ECMO. 5 days later, he had bypass surgery. Austin was one of B’s night nurses while he was on the ventilator for seven days. He was the first actual nurse B would have a real conversation with.

When Austin’s shift started, he would speak to B regarding his sitting throughout the day and that he would be moving about every 2 hours. Austin clearly communicated what procedures or tasks B could expect throughout the night as he worked his shift. B has told many people about Austin and the care he provided while in the hospital, which made a positive impact on my husband. It takes special people to be a nurse, and Austin has mastered the necessary job requirements, plus more. As you can tell, he enjoys being a nurse and helping others.
