I kept going to my car, not interrupting their conversation, and out of nowhere I heard Autum's voice shouting, "How’s our favorite patient doing?"
My wife was in the ICU for 17 days. She was intubated for 12 of those days. The priest had given my wife her last rites. I was a mess, and Autum knew it, and out of nowhere, she asked me if she could give me a hug.

That special hug was what I needed, and I cried my eyes out. It was the kindest gesture that I have ever received.

I will always treasure that hug. It gave me strength and hope to continue the love and support for my wife.

Another moment with Autum was leaving the hospital one night, and there she was in the parking lot talking with her fellow nurses that had just gotten off their 12-hour shift.

I kept going to my car, not interrupting their conversation, and out of nowhere I heard Autum's voice shouting, "How’s our favorite patient doing?" Once again, I broke down in tears.

I've never been treated with so much sincere kindness. Autum is the best of the best. I will always remember her as long as I live. She got me through those dark moments.

Thank you, Autum.

PS: I'm forever grateful to you.
