I was the SHM provider holding the pager for the night when Autumn paged regarding her 98 yo female patient becoming confused, agitated, and hallucinating. She was throwing her dentures and hitting staff. I went to the room to evaluate the patient. When I walked into the room in the middle of the night it was like a party!! Autumn was playing 1940s music on her Spotify app and a few nurses and patients were dancing and singing. The patient was loving it and it calmed her right down. Autumn played music on her phone app all night because that seemed to be what calmed her. It was really refreshing to see a nurse think outside of the box & not call asking for meds to sedate her.
