Ava first met my mom yesterday and immediately took it upon herself to ensure my mom received the highest quality of care.
Ava went above and beyond to assist in my mom’s medical care. My mom has a unique and aggressive form of cancer. Ava first met my mom yesterday and immediately took it upon herself to ensure my mom received the highest quality of care. Ava had five other patients who all seemed to have high needs, but I never once felt as if Ava dropped her level of care to any single one of the patients in her unit that she was responsible for.
My mom was supposed to receive an MRI yesterday and unfortunately, due to some issues, the sedation that was given to her was not enough for her to remain still in the tube. The techs called Ava and my mom’s team to try to coordinate her care to make sure she got her MRI. Unfortunately, the MRI was insufficient. After, I spoke with her neurologist, the internal medicine doctor, Ava, and the techs.
Ava stood up for my mother without any hesitation and made sure to keep every doctor in check to get my mom her care to determine what was going on with her acute symptoms. When we finally got my mom upstairs, Ava spoke with me in private about my mom’s entire case. She went into detail about everything that she would do to stay on top of her care and to ensure the entire unit was made aware of the situation that way my mom’s care would continue to be a priority. Ava said that she would ensure no matter what that my mom would be taken care of without any question. Ava confirmed that we would get her MRI the next day and that she would stay on top of her care every day that she worked.
Jack and Brianna both exemplified the highest quality care as well; my sister expressed the utmost appreciation for these nurses while my mom was re-admitted to the hospital less than 24 hours after her original admission. These three nurses are some of the most kindhearted, compassionate, patient, empathetic, and loving souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in such unfortunate circumstances. They took the time out to talk with my mom and with myself and my sister. They have continued to go above and beyond to give their patients the best care in one of the tougher units to work in. I cannot begin to thank the three of them enough.
