Avril McKeag

There are many reasons I could nominate Avril for The DAISY Award, but a kind act of empathy and passion comes to mind. We had a patient who, unfortunately, while being cared for in our ward, her husband passed away. After the patient attended her husband's funeral, she came back to our ward, hugging a flower that she had taken from her husband's coffin. I always remember the look on the patient's face as days later, Avril presented her with the flower that she had gotten dried and framed for her. To me, that is going above and beyond.
