March 2017 Honoree
ayite gaba, RN
Being a 22-year-old who had never had an IV, let alone a 9 day stay in step down ICU, and as a new ICU nurse myself, I was destined to be a terrible patient. Ayite was my nurse when I was admitted from the ED at 0230 and exhausted, scared and overwhelmed- he put a smile on my face right away.
He went above and beyond in his care to make me feel safe and involved me with my own care, knowing that it would ease my concerns. He was such an advocate for me, I had Ayite for more than 3 shifts and this gave me a sense of continuity of care and comfort.

Thank you, Ayite, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
