Aylin Perez, RN

We recently had a patient on our unit who was actively dying. He didn't have anyone in the room with him and was alone. Aylin noticed this and went into the room, sat, and talked with him to bring him comfort. He told her that Snickers was his favorite candy. Aylin bought him a Snickers bar and sat with him while he ate it. This was not the patient that Aylin had been assigned to that day. She simply saw he was alone and wanted to help bring him comfort. This goes above and beyond her amazing clinical skills and positive personality. She always has a smile on her face, even when it gets tough, and that continually brings joy to our patients.
