She was not trying to impress me, but she certainly left an impression on me.
I was a patient at University Hospital in Feb 2022. I was in the Heart & Vascular on CV2. I came in from the ER so I only had this particular nurse for 1 day. Her name was Ashley Wilmot, RN. Ms. Wilmot met me as soon as I was being admitted with the friendliest personality. She was so willing to please me and to make me comfortable. She never made me feel like she minded me asking for anything. If she had not told me, I would have thought she had just graduated from nursing school trying to please me, but then she told me she had been a nurse for 7 years. This is definitely the career for her. It is just within her to be a caring person, which makes her a very fine nurse. She had the most gentle hands of anyone I have ever met, She tried to remove an IV from one arm and place it in the other arm. She tried one time and did not get it in, so she did not try to continue sticking me, she called for the IV team to come with a machine to find a vein. She was not trying to impress me, but she certainly left an impression on me. She had the patience to talk with me, not only about my health, but we talked about our furry kids. We shared pictures of our fur babies with each other. There was truly a connection that she could so easily make with her patients. I do not think I had to use the nurse call button one time during her shift, she would just automatically come by, stick her head in the room, and check on me just to see if I needed anything. I hope if I or my family had to return to this hospital as a patient, I pray to the GOOD Lord that I (we) can have Ms. Wilmot as our nurse. I would request her any day.
