I had to come into the hospital to have surgery. My spleen needed to be removed. I was later admitted, and a few days later, I was reacting to the morphine. It was too strong for me, and I started hallucinating. Yelling for help. “Don’t let me die, help me please! Don’t leave me!”

My nurse came in to ask what I needed help with. I said, “I don’t know, but please don’t leave me.” She responded, “I won’t leave you, I promise.” She held my hand until I fell back asleep, and every time I opened my eyes, she was there. She asked if there was anything I needed. She was with me the whole time.

She washed me up, brushed my hair, and braided it. She pushed me through my goals and made sure I didn’t give up, always saying, "I love to see your smiling face!" I honestly believe that if it were not for this beautiful nurse, I would not have made it. So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you very much, Bailey Dell! Bless you! I will never forget you.

Thank you, Bailey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
