I’ve had many loses in my life lately and have been suffering with severe pain that got me to plan to commit suicide. I had been involuntarily committed to the psych ward; my surgery was expected to relieve the intense pain. After the surgery I was sent to 9D where I was still having nightmares. I was still fixating on suicide. All the staff on 9D was absolutely good to me.
I was in a dark place, and I honestly wanted to die to stop the physical and mental anguish. I was lost in my own head and my thinking was not healthy. From the moment Bailey Williams introduced herself, she was positive and friendly. She consistently cared for my needs, pain control, hygiene, and walking. She showed compassion, empathy, and encouragement. She never stopped checking in on me and meeting my needs before I even asked.
With this positive influence I was able to look at the issues in my life with a new facet. My suicidal thoughts and bleak outlooks went away. And for the first time in a month, I saw hope and a path to getting better.
