Barb is the ICU/CVCU Staff Developer. She keeps the staff in the know as to when educational class opportunities will be available, she reports monthly at staff meetings on the status of policy/procedures and product changes, and she engages staff in projects by aiding them to achieve evaluation goals.
She continues to challenge herself by attending daily report to stay current on patient status and be able to effectively step in to assist when needed. Barb remains strong in her open heart skills and is also a member of Marion General Hospital’s successful PICC team.
In spite of her busy schedule, Barb will drop whatever she is doing to help a co-worker, answer questions, and/or serve as a tremendous resource to employees hospital-wide. Barb is always a pleasure to work with and has a kind word for everyone. She truly deserves the DAISY Award.
Barb can easily step in and assist with any facet of critical care. She does a great job stepping in as the secondary nurse for an open heart patient. If she doesn’t have the answer to a question, she will find it for you.
No one, and I mean no one, can do or does what Barb does. She is committed to doing her job and everyone else’s. She does it all. She’s available to assist, education and coordinate. She keeps on top of all aspects of patient care and nursing concerns. She will find solutions! She is the epitome of commitment and service to Marion General Hospital.
Barb has been a great resource and support person for me since I started here in January 2009. Not only can I go to her with questions, but I know even if I need help with a patient, she’ll be there with a smile! If there is something she doesn’t know, she’s always sure to find out and get back with you! She helped make my transition to a new job so much easier.
