My father was recently in St. Mary's following two seizures he had. Dad is 82, hard of hearing and used to being well taken care of by his wife at home. So needless to say, he was not happy to be in the hospital and to being poked and prodded. Barbara was so very nice to him, even as he scowled at her. She treated my dad the way that I imagine she would treat her own father - with kindness, respect, and most of all, dignity. She always smiled, regardless of how busy she was, and she was busy!
Barbara and tech worked so well together and even had Dad cracking a smile, which is hard to do. Her smile and thoughtfulness just stood out to me. She would ask him before every injection if it was OK with him, which he really liked. Just small things like that, multiple times each day, added up to a happier experience for him. She also went out of her way to help his family know when the doctors would be in, when tests would be performed, etc., which was very helpful to us so we could plan on who needed to be at the hospital and when. She is just so nice and genuinely cares about not only her patients but their family as well. She is a wonderful representative for your hospital.
