Barb was nominated by a patient's daughter who fondly remembered Barb making sure her father was clean shaven and bathed before his discharge to hospice care. Her nomination stated "that could have been left for someone else to do, but Barb gently provided that care for my dad in a way that helped him feel dignified."

Barb was also nominated by her manager for her dedication to the unit and the nursing staff as a whole. Barb is actively involved in many projects and her behavior really speaks to the model of excellence in nursing we all strive for.

A nurse for three decades, Barb told us that this was just an absolutely amazing experience to be honored with a DAISY award.
