Barbara Burke, the diabetes educator, is a Godsend. When I was last hospitalized, she was not available to come see me. We have had many impromptu discussions about diabetes off and on. She has given me educational material also. The reason why I think she is a DAISY Nurse is because of her compassion and concern that she gives patients and myself. Barbara has gone above and beyond for me because she has come to my office and asked how I am doing. She sees me on the units and she asks how I am doing. Even in the cafeteria, she checks in on me all the time. Barbara makes me feel so special.
