When I first met Barbara, she came into my mom's room smiling and filled the room with a sense of peace. She was easy to talk to. I had a lot of questions regarding my mom's care. I was overwhelmed and scared. Barbara sat down with me and listened to all my concerns. She spoke with compassion and empathy. She explained everything that was going on with my mom, what they were going to do for her, and what the plan of care was. She spoke in terms I could understand, and if I did not understand, she explained it more and even looked up procedures for me. My mom was supposed to have a heart cath, and I never heard of one before. Barbara explained what a heart cath was and even got the doctor to come explain the exact procedure to us. She eased my worries and took excellent care of my mom. She was always in our room checking on us, seeing if we needed anything, and helping my mom with anything she needed. She would always say, "I am here for you. My job is to help you no matter what." I will never forget the care she gave us and how she always showed up with a smile, ready to help. I am sure she has touched many people's lives, and she needs to be recognized for her impact.

Thank you, Barbara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
