I nominate Barbara David for the DAISY Award. Barbara is the resource nurse. Barbara is always willing to help me with my patient care. She often times calls me in the morning to check and see if she can come and transport my patient to the recovery department. She also assists me with families once the patient is sedated. She escorts them out of the modality and orients them to the PACU department. This is vital to me as I need to be at the bedside to assist the Anesthesia staff. She ALWAYS has a GREAT attitude and willingness to help. When Barbara is in the charge nurse role she is cognizant of the schedule and a patient advocate. Barbara is the first one to jump right in there to find a solution to any situation. Barbara keeps abreast on current policies and procedures that pertain to Sedation PACU. She has an open mind to hear new ideas.
