Barb has been helping a lung cancer patient on her time off. She takes him to his doctor’s appointments and has helped get his family furniture for their apartment. Barb is also looking for other ways to assist this family with financial needs.
In a letter after the celebration, Barbara writes:
“My motive for helping this patient and his wife was never for public recognition. It was because I believe I was given, on that particular day, by God, an opportunity and rather than saying “No” and not getting involved, I said “Yes”. I only got the ball rolling that day for this couple. It has become a project involving many from my home church and our community. This experience has validated for me the verse in Acts 20:35…”It is more blessed to give than receive.”
