We've had a behavioral health patient in the ED who can be extremely challenging to work with. Barbara is so willing and skilled with this patient- she is able to deftly calm the patient when upset, works effectively to get this patient to comply when she was initially oppositional, and doesn't get irritated or take the patient's challenging behavior as a personal affront. Today, she got the patient, who has been angrily refusing for over 24 hours, to eat. I love it when Barbara is assigned to my psych patients- a great mixture of skill and compassion!
