Barbie is an exceptional ICU nurse who has been with MHGH ICU for over thirty years. Barbie's an outstanding role model recognized by patients, family, staff, and leadership by her clinical skills and compassionate care consistently throughout the years. She always presents with a positive, caring, and compassionate attitude. Barbie has an abundance of knowledge to care for critically ill patients. Barbie is always energetic and willing to assist patients and the team whenever needed.
All staff, physicians, and the health care team feel comfortable and safe whenever Barbie is on duty. Barbie is always able to address all of the issues and concerns. All staff, including physicians, respect Barbie as an exceptional role model/mother of the unit because of her knowledge, caring, and compassionate attitude. Barbie is a charge nurse who always makes sure all patients are safe and received the best quality care. Barbie always assists the staff with new admissions and bedside procedures. Barbie always is sure that all admitting patients are on monitor, cleaned, comfortable, and safe, including patients who are totally unconscious.
Regardless of her busy charge nurse role, Barbie would take her time to listen and educate staff, patients, and family who needed her assistance. Barbie is willing to answer call light and assist patients with bathroom needs. Patients and families who interact with Barbie praise her for her knowledge, compassion, and caring attitude.
