Barbara was one of C's first nurses. Frankly, I didn't like her so much at first. She takes a little while to get to know. She has had C several times now and I am more impressed with her approach and skills each time. Barbara pays close attention to details and gets to know her patients. If Barbara is on the floor and I want to know something, I will often seek her out even when she's not assigned to C. She takes the time to answer any questions and knows how to explain things to a layman. C is on a continuous oxygen monitor that is not hooked up to a remote monitor. The monitor simply sounds an alarm in the room. During the day it is so busy that many people will walk by the open door with the alarm going off. If Barbara hears it, she will always come to check to see what is going on no matter where she is assigned or if she is in the middle of doing something at the desk. OH yeah, she was the nurse who got called to help when C was having respiratory arrest. I credit her with saving C's life. I know she was just doing her job, but she does everything to the best of her abilities.
